Alexandra N. Garcia, MD
Dr. Alexandra N. Garcia is a native of Miami, Florida and is a bilingual, first-generation Cuban. She received her BS in Health Science from the University of Florida and her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, graduating in 2017. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2021 and went on to pursue a three-year fellowship in Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at the University of South Florida in Tampa, graduating in 2024.
Dr. Garcia has been recognized for her commitment to her work and has been the recipient of several awards including the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Award from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital. She received the University of South Florida Health (USF) MCOM GME Culture Champion Award, which recognized her as a role model in her community and for her commitment to professionalism, humanism, compassion, and culture competence.
Dr. Garcia has a strong passion for advancing the field of Urogynecology. In addition to her medical training, she has written book chapters, created surgical videos, and published multiple peer-reviewed research articles. Dr. Garcia has been invited to present her research at national and international conferences including her work on perioperative sacrocolpopexy outcomes sponsored by the American Urogynecology Society and the Asociación Latinoamericana para el Piso Pélvico (ALAPP), the Latin American Urogynecology Society.
Dr. Garcia is expertly trained in minimally invasive vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic reconstructive pelvic surgery. Her expertise includes sacral neuromodulation therapy, midurethral slings, urethral bulking, sacrocolpopexy, intradetrusor Botox, in addition to other surgical and non-surgical therapies. She is excited to improve the quality of life of women in her community suffering with urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic floor disorders.
