Dr. Cohen is the founder of the Urology Center of Winter Park and practices all aspects of adult urology, including laparoscopic and minimally-invasive surgery. He performs advanced surgical techniques for the treatment of bladder, prostate, and kidney cancer including focal cryotherapy, laparoscopic and energy-ablative non-invasive treatments. He also excels in the treatment of benign prostate enlargement (urolift, microwave thermotherapy, greenlight laser, bipolar vaporization technology, robotic aquablation therapy ), kidney stones (shock-wave lithotripsy, holmium-laser), urinary tract infections, hematuria evaluation, “no-scalpel vasectomy”, erectile dysfunction, low testosterone, male infertility, and urinary incontinence.
Dr. Cohen works at the state-of-the-art office that offers in-office conscious sedation for appropriate procedures, thus saving his patients pain and discomfort, as well as, time and money by avoiding hospitals or surgical centers. He is also one of a few select surgeons in the Central Florida area that performs Aquablation therapy for patients suffering from prostate enlargement issues.
Dr. Cohen was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. He received his MD from McGill University School of Medicine in Montreal in 1997. He completed his internship in General Surgery, followed by his residency training in Urology, at McGill University Health Center in 2002. Subsequently, Dr. Cohen was awarded a prestigious postgraduate fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the world-renowned M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Cohen is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine. Dr. Cohen is an active member of the prestigious Society of Urologic Oncology. Dr. Cohen is a Urologic Oncologist within the Advent Health Cancer Institute and he is a member of the multidisciplinary genitourinary tumor board. His patients are enrolled in the most current clinical trials available.
Dr. Cohen believes that the hallmark of good medicine is the development of a strong doctor-patient relationship based on trust and understanding. He always strives to deliver the highest quality of urologic care in a conscientious and diligent manner to all of his patients.
