Dr. Gomez was born and raised in the Dominican Republic to a family of physicians going back four generations. He was an Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society graduate of Johns Hopkins University, then went on to receive his medical degree from the Pedro H. Ureña National University of Santo Domingo, graduating Magna Cum Laude at the top of his class.
After finishing a urological residency at the George Washington University, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Dr. Gomez completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
During his tenure as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Miami Department of Urology, Dr. Gomez received the Attending Physician of the Year Award, based upon nomination by his students and peers.
Dr. Gomez is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He’s an active member of the American Urological Association and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Gomez has served as the Chief of Urology at Baptist and South Miami Hospitals and is the founding partner of Urology Specialty Care, a single specialty group practice committed to providing the highest level of urological services. Besides his private practice, Dr. Gomez is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Urology at the Wertheim Medical College of Florida International University.
Dr. Gomez specialties are: Diagnosis and management of Prostate Cancer, Diagnosis and management of Chronic Cystitis, including Interstitial Cystitis, Urological health as a component of global wellness, Office-based surgery under sedation, including Prostate Biopsies and Vasectomies.
