Erin Gilbert, APRN, CNM
Erin Gilbert is a Certified Nurse Midwife, ARNP with a Post Masters Degree as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She was born and raised in Delaware where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Delaware. She relocated to Florida in 1999 and began her nursing career at Broward General Medical Center (Broward Health). As a nurse she worked in the areas of Mother Baby, the Neonatal intensive care unit and Labor and Delivery.
After 10 years of nursing, Erin decided it was time to purse her dream of becoming a Midwife. She attended Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing and graduated with honors. Erin is very passionate about her role as a midwife. She feels that every birth is a miracle and is honored to be a part of such an important time in a couple’s life.
Erin provides care to women of all ages from teens through menopause. Visits include well woman, precon-ception, pregnancy, postpartum care, contraception, and gynecological problems. She strives to empower women during pregnancy and childbirth and supports the emotional, spiritual and cultural beliefs of her pa-tients. She is very supportive of the natural process of childbirth. Her experience and training includes VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), waterbirth, and hypnobirthing.
Erin is a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN), the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM), and the American Association of Birth Centers (AABC). She is married and has 5 beautiful children. She balances her work and home life with her love for tennis and hot yoga. She is very happy to be a part of the team at the office of Dr. Delisa Skeete-Henry.
