Delisa Skeete Henry, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Delisa Skeete Henry, MD, is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist practicing in South Florida for almost 20 years.
Dr. Skeete Henry, a native of Guyana, South America, was raised in Miami where she attended the University of Miami and matriculated with undergraduate honors in Biology and a minor in both Chemistry and Psychology. She went on to earn her doctorate degree from the University of Miami, School of Medicine. She then completed her OB/GYN residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA.
Compassionate about caring for women in the community, Dr. Skeete Henry believes in empowering women during their pregnancy, delivery, postpartum and motherhood journeys. She values the sanctity of vaginal delivery and therefore advocates for and supports women’s choices for natural/unmedicated births, vaginal deliveries after cesarean section, utilization of hypnobirthing, doulas and birth plans. She believes in shared decision making between the patients and providers to achieve healthy outcomes. In addition, Dr. Skeete Henry is a skilled gynecologic surgeon that specializes in minimally invasive surgeries including Robotic assisted surgery.
Since 2002, Dr. Skeete Henry has provided care at Broward Health Medical Center’s Salah Women and Children’s Hospital. She currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Ob/Gyn and works tirelessly to improve quality and processes within the department and hospital facility. As department chair, she is working on several initiatives including decreasing the primary cesarean section rates to an acceptable national average as well increasing the exclusive breastfeeding rates.
In an effort to acquire knowledge to make a greater impact, Dr. Skeete Henry is completing her MBA at Kelley Business of Medicine Physician MBA program.
Dr. Skeete Henry has been happily married to Dr. Richard Henry (a chiropractic physician and UM alumni) for 20 years and together they have four beautiful children. She enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, walking and bike riding.
