Eva-Maria Capote
Nurse Practitioner
Eva-Maria Capote was born and raised in Miami, Florida and is the daughter of Cuban immigrants. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Barry University. During her clinical rotations in nursing school, she rotated in the Nicklaus Children’s Emergency Department where she realized her passion for helping children and families in their time of need. In 2012, Eva was accepted in the Horizon Program at Nicklaus Childrens Hospital which jump started her career in pediatric nursing. During this time, she rotated throughout the Emergency Department and the Urgent Care Centers working as a registered nurse. She was recognized as Nurse of the Year for her department in 2015. Eva then continued her interest in pediatric health and received her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Child Health from Florida International University in 2016, where she was also a part of Sigma Theta Tau, a Honor Society of Nursing. She is currently an ANCC Board Certified Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.
She worked as a nurse practitioner in the Nicklaus Childrens Urgent Care Centers. Dr. Gutierrez and Eva began working together at the urgent care centers. Dr. Gutierrez mentored Eva during her primary care clinical rotations while achieving her masters degree. Eva has a strong passion for child health and it shows in her day to day encounters with her patients.
During her free time, Eva enjoys spending time with her son, husband and family, going to the beach, the Florida Keys and traveling.
