Maggie Wardlaw, CNM

After graduation, she moved to Washington, DC, and enrolled at Georgetown University, where she earned her Master of Science in specialty nurse-midwifery in just 18 months. At Georgetown, Margaret received the prestigious Nurse-Midwifery Program Award. The next summer, Margaret started her career, joining the team at Special Beginnings Birth and Women’s Center, in Arnold, MD, offering labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
Over the course of the last two decades, Margaret continued serving in various nursing roles. She’s held a position as a certified nurse-midwife at The Maternity Center in Bethesda, Maryland, as a women’s health advanced practitioner at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, in Washington, DC, and as a certified nurse-midwife at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Maryland.
In early 2017, Margaret decided to move south and accepted a position as a certified nurse-midwife at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. The same year, she founded her own business, Miami Certified Nurse-Midwives.
Margaret loves working one-on-one with pregnant women and specializes in homebirth practice, obstetrics, gynecology, lactation, and postpartum care. She also offers courses on prenatal yoga, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
Margaret is a proud member of the Florida Chapter of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and sits on the American Midwifery Certification Board. She also enjoys augmenting her professional skills, holding certifications from the American Heart Association in CPR and neonatal advanced life support. Margaret also holds certification from AWHONN in Advanced Fetal Monitoring.
