Meet Dr. Ramón E. Martínez
Dr. Ramón E. Martínez is a preeminent endocrinologist who serves patients in Pembroke Pines and the Greater Miami area in Florida. He has been in practice for more than 15 years. He is affiliated with Memorial Health System as well as Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Martínez is board-certified in Endocrinology and previously certified by ABIM in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics.
In addition to Diabetes, Dr. Martínez also specializes in treating various Endocrine disorders, like calcium abnormalities and osteoporosis, and diseases of the Adrenal, Pituitary, Thyroid, Parathyroid, Pancreas, and Gonad glands.
Dr. Ramón E. Martínez obtained his MD degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1999.
Subsequently, he moved to the United States of America, where he did his Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. He then completed a Geriatric and Gerontology fellowship at the University of Miami in 2005. Afterward, he concluded his Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. Then, he moved to Miami, initially practicing at Miami Beach Community Health Center, where he was the Executive Vicepresident of Medical Education and Research. In this position, Dr. Martínez played a crucial role in helping the organization achieved the best Diabetes quality measures in Florida and one of the best in the USA. Additionally, he led many clinical research studies in areas like diabetes and cholesterol. He now joins My Endo Health at Pembroke Pines to contribute his knowledge and experience to this community.
Dr. Martínez currently holds a Clinical Assistant Professor position at Nova Southeastern University and Ross University Medical School. He enjoys teaching medical students, our future doctors.
Additionally, Dr. Martínez is an active member of Endocrine Society and The American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE). He actively participates in the Hormone Health Network (HHN) as a voluntary contributor and editor. HHN is the patient education arm of Endocrine Society.
Dr. Martínez worked in South Florida with the underserved and underinsured for many years. He was recognized as the Physician of the Year in 2010 for his organization. He is compassionate, knowledgeable, and empathetic, which has earned him an excellent reputation with his patients and peers.
