Born and raised in South Florida, Dr. Jose F. Bestard returned to his hometown after receiving his license in Medicine and Surgery at UCIMED University in San Jose, Costa Rica.

He completed his internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and an OB/GYN Residency at Bayfront Medical Center in St Petersburg, Florida. During residency, Dr. Bestard received a certificate of excellence in Colposcopic procedures as well as the Silent Heart award. He is certified in minimally invasive surgery, DaVinci Robotic surgery and pelvic reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Jose Bestard is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Florida Ob/Gyn Society, and has served in the Baptist Hospital Labor and Delivery collaborative committee and ObGyn review committee. He has been interviewed on WDNA’s live radio show regarding Prenatal Care, on NBC concerning H1N1 influenza infection in pregnancy, and was a guest speaker at the Trinidad Physical Therapist Foundation on the Fundamentals of Osteoporosis. Dr. Bestard has published works in the Contemporary Obgyn Journal.

Dr. Bestard is now a partner at one of the premier OB/GYN Practices at Baptist Hospital in Miami, Florida. With the support of his bilingual staff, Dr. Bestard offers local and international patients outstanding care that exceeds expectations.

Dr. Del Boca is absolutely the best doctor in Miami, he’s so caring which a lot of physicians aren’t now a days. He delivered my second baby girl; wish I would’ve been referred to him for my first daughter. The staff is amazing and I’ve never had any issues. I recently went to get my IUD insertion (Mirena) and this was the second time I’ve gotten it and I have to say Dr. Del Boca made it very pleasant, it didn’t hurt AT ALL. I was only a little uncomfortable because my bladder was full but other than that it was quick and painless. I was very nervous because the first time I got it I did feel a little pain but this time, NO PAIN.
