Douglas H. Moffett, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified OB/GYN seeing patients at Lake OB-GYN Associates of Mid-Florida, LLC in Leesburg, and Villages, in Florida. He specializes in all aspects of women’s care, but also completes annual well-woman exams, performs pelvic reconstructive and minimally invasive surgery, and provides menopause treatment with a special interest in hormone replacement.

After medical school and residency training at the University of Miami, Dr. Moffett returned home to Leesburg and joined Lake OB-GYN Associates of Mid-Florida, LLC where he’s practiced alongside his father for more than 20 years. He is the President Elect for the prestigious South Atlantic Society of OB/GYN’s and has been the president to the board for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Lake and Sumter County (which cares for physically and sexually abused children) for several years now. He has served as Chairman of both the Department of OB/GYN at Leesburg Regional Medical Center as well as the Department of Maternal and Child health.

Dr. Moffett chose to specialize in OB/GYN because he enjoys being a part of the birthing miracle and the mixture the specialty provides of office-based medical practice along with surgery. During medical school, he fell in love with delivering babies and decided that was what he wanted to do as his calling.

When he’s not working, Dr. Moffett enjoys spending time with the love of his wife, Crista, whom he’s been married to for more than 23 years, and their three beautiful children.
