TopLine MD Alliance affiliated physician, Dr. Susan Manella, is redefining what it means to be a healer by turning personal pain into purpose and uplifting others beyond the walls of her practice.
For more than eight years, Dr. Manella has been a passionate supporter and advocate for Jewish Family Services of Broward County (JFS Broward), an organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families in crisis. Through essential services like food, clothing, housing, and counseling, JFS Broward stands as a lifeline for survivors of domestic abuse—a cause that resonates deeply with Dr. Manella.
At 29, Dr. Manella survived domestic violence herself. Despite the emotional toll, she continued her medical residency, built a thriving practice, and created a loving family. Today, she uses her platform as a physician to bring visibility to survivors’ stories and encourage others to seek the support they deserve.
In a recent event hosted by JFS Broward in Dania Beach, Dr. Manella addressed attendees, including many of her patients, by sharing her journey and advocating for continued awareness and resources for survivors.
“I want people to know that there is life after trauma,” she said. “Through the right support and inner strength, you can not only survive, but thrive.”
Dr. Manella’s journey is a testament to the power of resilience and community. Her continued work with JFS Broward exemplifies the TopLine MD Alliance’s commitment to whole-person care, addressing not just physical wellness, but emotional and social well-being as well.
