Dr. Jimenez

Dr. Joaquin Jimenez was born in Cuba and raised in various cities in New Jersey, Spain and Venezuela. He completed his preparatory education in various Jesuit schools after which he began his secondary education. He completed a combined undergraduate and post-graduate program at Universidad Central de Venezuela culminating with the awarding of his medical degree in 1986. He then completed a pediatric residency in Venezuela at Hospital Pediatrico Elias Toro. Next, he joined his father’s private pediatric practice in Venezuela where he worked from 1990 to 1995. He then moved to the US where he completed another pediatric residency at Miami Children’s Hospital. Upon completion of residency in 1998, he joined the Gables Pediatrics family. His areas of interest include preventive medicine especially with respect to childhood vaccinations. He is married and the proud father of two amazing sons.

He is board certified in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics and licensed by the Florida Board of Medicine. In addition, he is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
