Giselle Fontela, MD, FAAP

Dr. Fontela was born and raised in Miami, FL. She received an academic scholarship to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, where she obtained the Mount Sinai Scholars as Leaders Merit Scholarship. She then completed her pediatric residency at Nicklaus Children’s hospital in 2021. Her areas of interest include asthma, allergies, and nutrition. She became the newest member of the Gables Pediatrics Family in February of 2023.

She is board-certified in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics and licensed by the Florida Board of Medicine. In addition, she is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
