Dr. Llanso

Dr. Rafael Llanso was born in Cuba and raised in the Dominican Republic. He received his Bachelor of Science in premed studies, as well as his medical degree, from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Madre y Maestra in Santiago, DR in 1984. He then completed his pediatric residency at the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. Following residency he moved to Miami where he worked as the Director of the Pediatric Department of the JMH Health Plan at Jackson Memorial Hospital until 1989. It was after this that he became part of the Gables Pediatrics family. His areas of interest include preventive medicine as well as developmental and behavioral aspects of pediatric patient care.

He is board certified in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics and licensed by the Florida Board of Medicine. In addition, he is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
