DR. GEOFFREY N. JAMES

Dr. Geoffrey James is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist who has been in private practice in Miami for more than 30 years. He is one of the founding partners of FemCare Ob-Gyn, LLC. He received his bachelor’s degree from New York University with a major in history, and his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.

Dr. James served as Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves Medical Corps until receiving an honorable discharge in 1978. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Currently, Dr. James is active in the Credentials Committee for Baptist Hospital and serves on the corporate Quality Improvement and Medical Technology Assessment Committees for AvMed Health Plan. He is an active member of the Florida Medical Association, the Dade County Medical Association, the Florida Obstetric and Gynecologic Society, and the Miami Obstetrical and Gynecological Society. He has served as Vice President and board member of Bet Shira Congregation and worked as a volunteer obstetrician at the Rosie Lee Wesley Community Clinic in Miami. Dr. James is a past chairman of the Department of Ob/Gyn and the Home Health Care Committee at Baptist Hospital.

Dr. James has a special clinical interest in menopause, hormone imbalance, and female sexuality. Apart from spending quality time with his family and grandchildren when he is not working, Dr. James and his wife, Linda, enjoy hiking, tennis, and foreign travel.
