Prenatal Visits In Hollywood, Florida
Prenatal visits incorporate several services like physical exams and tests to make sure that future moms will have healthy pregnancies.
The importance of prenatal care will usually be stressed during the very first visit. Your doctor will discuss your and your partner’s medical history, along with your family’s medical history.
During the initial visit, when starting prenatal care, you will get a complete checkup along with blood and urine tests to assess your health.
Apart from that, during prenatal doctor visits, you might also get:
- Your weight, blood pressure, pulse, and breathing measured
- May might get a breast exam
- A Pap test
- A pelvic exam
- STD tests
- Screening tests for other conditions like rubella, hepatitis B, diabetes, and anemia
During prenatal visits, your doctor will also address questions regarding your diet and lifestyle. They will also talk about the importance of taking prenatal vitamins and will speak about particular medicine types that might be harmful during pregnancy.
Be open with your healthcare expert during these prenatal visits. The more they know about your supplementation and medicine regime, the better they can accommodate their guidelines to ensure a smooth pregnancy for you and your baby.
Later on, during your prenatal visits, your doctor may:
- Take additional urine tests
- Update your medical history
- Check for swelling
- Measure your belly
- Check the fetal position
- Listen to the baby’s heartbeat
- Order genetic testing
Scheduling Prenatal Visits in South Florida (and First Pediatric Exams)
Prenatal visits can be scheduled any afternoon at 1:15 PM with your preferred physician. After your baby’s born, the doctor on call for the specific hospital will see your baby the same day. When you arrive at the hospital, the staff will ask which pediatrician you wish to choose. Here, you can state “Children’s Medical Center.” We are affiliated with Memorial Hospitals and round at Memorial West, Miramar and Regional. After this, the hospital will notify the on-call physician, and your baby will be visited within the first 24 hours of their life. After being discharged, you will also be able to schedule your baby’s first appointment within one or two days.
When scheduling your appointment, you should know that you can see any nurse practitioner or physician you prefer. As Children’s Medical Center is a group practice, we recommend getting familiar with a couple of different providers so we can provide continuity of care. You can always request a specific provider for your well and checkups if you prefer.
You should also know that we have three different locations, enabling you to schedule an appointment where your preferred provider works. You can also see a different physician if you prefer to visit a particular office. The choice is entirely up to you. Also, it’s also a great idea to register on our portal so you have access to your baby’s chart at all times.
Lastly, you should know that we participate with most insurances. As such, you should ensure that your child is added to the given insurance within the first 30 days of their life. In cases that this does not happen, you will be responsible for paying for the expenses out of your pocket. In case you have an HMO or Medicaid plan, you should make sure that one of the doctors working in our office is selected as the Primary Care Physician or PCP.
If you have any further questions or concerns regarding prenatal visits and the services we perform, feel free to reach out to our office. When it comes to prenatal visits in South Florida, you should know that Children’s Medical Center strives to be among the best constantly.

Patient Feedback
Have been going to the Doctors here since my son was born. Almost 5 years now. Love them. And the staff has always been extremely helpful as well. Whenever we need paperwork, referrals, orders for DME etc. they have always come through for us.
I have been coming to Children’s medical center for 18 years and I am happy with their staff and doctors. Never a hassle to make a same day appt. Dr Budowsky is awesome!
Great place! My 10 week old daughter had an eye infection. We called them and got an immediate appointment. We walked in and were seen by a doctor within minutes. The doctor turned out to be the same Doctor who had been my wife’s pediatrician when she was a child. This was our third visit to this location since our baby was born and the staff are always great. I highly recommend this practice.
