Minor Procedures
We offer a wide range of in-office procedures with local anesthesia, including breast cancer ultrasound, beast biopsy procedures, port removals, and more. Our main goal is to provide patients with surgical options that are the least invasive while maintaining their comfort.
In Office Ultrasound
To evaluate lesions, breast ultrasounds are among the best methods. They can also be immensely helpful in the evaluation of breast cysts.
Ultrasound-guided Breast Biopsy
In the event of an early-stage breast cancer ultrasound, i.e., when our experts detect a suspicious mass in the breast, a form of breast cancer ultrasound or ultrasound-guided breast biopsy may be required to make a precise diagnosis. Instead of removing the entire mass, we use a less invasive method and use ultrasound to assist the surgeon in finding the exact location of the affected area. Our providers will extract a cell sample from the mass, which will undergo further examinations in the lab for a more precise diagnosis.
Ultrasound-guided Cyst Aspiration
Breast cysts may develop within the structures of both breasts. These are common and, in most cases, noncancerous (benign). To be precise, these masses are fluid-filled bumps that usually require no treatment unless they cause pain or other complications for the patient.
Similarly to the surgical process described above, during ultrasound-guided breast cyst aspiration, surgeons will use the ultrasound to guide the needle precisely to the cyst instead, enabling them to do a more precise and less invasive job as with more traditional methods.
After the drainage, the cyst will collapse, and the fluid will be discarded unless there’s a suspicion that further examinations may be required.
