Nitronox is a delivery system that provides a gas mixture of 50% nitrous oxide and 50% oxygen. It is used to help ease discomfort during some medical and aesthetic procedures. If you experience any discomfort or anxiety during your treatment, you are able to inhale the gas mixture through a mask or mouthpiece, as needed. You’ll be fully awake, responsive and breathing on your own through the entire process.

Nitrous oxide and oxygen have been used for over 100 years and have a long-standing safety record. It is commonly used in hospitals during labor and delivery, post-surgery units, pediatric units and dental offices.
Are there risks or side effects associated?
Nitrous oxide is a “drug” with side effects and contraindications for use. Although the treatment is generally well-tolerated, possible side effects include: nausea, vomiting, excessive sweating, euphoria, excitement, deep sedation, drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, dysphoria, amnesia, and headaches. These should subside once use is discontinued. You should discuss all considerations with your treatment provider and follow their specific instructions.
What is the cost?
Nitronox is not covered by insurance. There is a fee of $75.00 which includes the disposable equipment (mask, tubing) necessary for nitrous oxide administration.
