Dr. Ernesto Cardenas was born in Colombia and raised in South Florida. He graduated from Florida State University and attended medical school at Ponce School of Medicine. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology from Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas and was the recipient of numerous teaching awards. He was the Department Chairman at Winn Army Community Hospital for 3 years. Trained in trauma medicine, he deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 as a battalion surgeon. In 2012 he joined Bayshore Women’s Healthcare. Dr. Cardenas enjoys promoting women’s health and appears regularly on national television and radio programs.
